Barbers Hill expands science outreach beyond Girls in Engineering Day

At Barbers Hill Middle School ExxonMobil sponsors a hands on science day for eighth graders not attending Girls in Engineering. Volunteers demonstrate chemical reactions with carbon dioxide while teachers and parents guide experiments. Students gain real world insight into science careers and enjoy learning.

Green Center aids Baytown spring cleanup services

The Baytown Green Center at 1601 W. Main St offers resident-only disposal from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday to Wednesday and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturdays. Acceptable items include household debris and recyclable materials. prohibited items include shingles, tires, hazardous materials, Freon, and bricks. Fees apply to vehicles and trailers by size.
