An 82 year old woman died in a fatal fire at the rubber plant disposal site. The first of two hearings on the Aynihelig Rubber Plant disposal plan is set for Tuesday at 10 am before a U S Senate sub committee. Nelson McHirey of Baytown Chamber of Commerce plans to attend in Washington. A House Armed Services hearing is scheduled for Thursday at 10 am with McElroy and Fred Hartman of The Baytown Sun invited to Washington for the session.

Members of the Baytown Eie ployes Federation will decide Tuesday night whether to accept Humble Qil's pay increase offer. The BEF executive council reviewed the proposal and placed it before the members with no recommendation. Humble has offered hourly employees a 10 cent raise and salaried staff a four percent increase with a minimum $18 monthly raise for salaried workers. Woman Burned to Death in Baytown Ranch Home Tragedy
An 82 year old woman, Mrs Anna Slansky Holee, was found burned to death at a Baytown ranch home on Tri-City Beach Road Sunday. The daughter returned from the grocery store to find her mother near the steps withDress caught fire from a small heater. The house had only one fire burning. Mrs Holee lived with her son in law Mr and Mrs TU A James at Route 9. The husband was in the fields and the daughter was outside at the time. A doctor arrived too late. She had heart ailment. The body will be moved to Fayetteville for funeral services Wednesday officiated by the Rev. Wthonko of St Johns Catholic church. Survivors include three sons and two daughters, five grandchildren, and relatives in Baytown Highlands Payetteville and Orlando. Mrs Holee had lived with the James family for nine years.

Rites Held Today For Rev Gillette Brother Of LP Man
Funeral services are set for Rev Henry Wharton Gillette 80 brother of LP Man at the First Methodist church in Ta Porte. He will be buried in Cedar Bayou cemetery under the direction of Art Simpson Funeral home. He helped organize Methodist churches in Central Texas and served congregations in Fort Worth and Breckenridge from 1907 to 1920. He studied at Southwestern University Georgetown and earned his degrees there. He is survived by a brother and many nephews with pallbearers from the church board of stewards.
