Poor turnout for Light Goose Conservation Order in Texas
The seven winter season, nicknamed electronic caller season, allows unplugged shotguns and unlimited snow goose bag with taped calls. Hunters report mixed results and waning participation from Panhandle to coast, while outfitters in El Campo Garwood and Eagle Lake note few conservation hunts and geese lingering on the prairie later into winter.

SALT marks 20 years in Trinity Bay fishing circle
The Trinity Bay chapter of Saltwater Angler's League of Texas celebrates its 20th anniversary with founding and current members at Golden Corral. Since 1985 the group has donated about $40,000 to Special Olympics and kid-focused causes while founding the Galveston Bay Foundation. Hurricane Rita hurt finances and membership but organizers promote the March Madness Fundament at San Leon Marina and invite new anglers to join.

No. 6 Texas hosts No. 19 Oklahoma with a share of the conference crown at stake after a win would seal the title and top seed. A loss could hand Kansas the outright title and drop Texas to No. 3 seed, following a costly late turnover versus Texas A&M.
