Judge rules against UIW in wrongful death case over police
State District Court Judge Cathleen Stryker rejected UIW and its former police officers Mickey and Valerie Redus cited immunity and allowed the wrongful death lawsuit to proceed. Cameron Redus, UIW senior fatally shot during a Dec 2013 traffic stop, is the central plaintiff. The Redus family, based in Baytown, has won rulings against UIW twice and pursues appeal.
