A Saturday ceremony at Baytown’s David G. Burnet Park marks renovations to the site atop the historic homestead of David G. Burnet, first president of the Republic of Texas. Harr is County Precinct 2 says the 3.7 acre park near Burnet Bay gains new playground gear and ballpark space, with plans for a pavilion, hiking and discovery trails, and restrooms. The project is a Project Star cornerstone in Lynchburg’s revival tied to Texas Revolution history.
