Coast Guard Hauls Sick Doctor From Offshore Vessel
The Coast Guard evacuated a 45 year old doctor from the Norwegian research vessel Veritas Viking, 190 miles off Galveston in the Gulf of Mexico, after he showed chest pains and heart attack symptoms. An MH-65 Dolphin lowered a rescue swimmer to the deck and both were hoisted to the helicopter. The doctor was taken to the University of Texas Medical Branch for treatment and is in stable condition.
