Carrie Gaskamp was officially named Baytown YMCA director on March 3 after serving as interim leader since January when Jim Haugen left for Conroe. The Baytown center, serving the community for over 47 years, has grown from 700 to 1400 members as facilities and programs expanded under her leadership. Born in Brenham, Gaskamp began with prenatal aerobics in 1981 and rose through YMCA roles in Alief Lake Houston and Baytown.
