Green says evidence not enough yet to impeach
State Sen. Gene Green of Houston said there is insufficient evidence to impeach Gov. Bill Clements. He predicted an impeachment investigation may fail in committee and noted current probes into SMU football payments and Clements’ past role. Green warned that any change depends on criminal charges from investigations and discussed budget wrangles and proposed tax and spending cuts as a solution.
