Slow Jury Selection In Estes Theft Trial At Pecos
Jurors for the Estes felony theft case moved slowly in Pecos as defense questioned veniremen. One was excused saying sitting on the jury would embarrass him. Estes, 37, faces charges tied to a Reeves County farmer sale of fertilizer tanks and is under federal and state indictments. In Austin, state officials prepared further suits against East Texas oil operators amid a broad data-gathering effort as jury selection continued in the Reeves County case.
