Lane Rex birthday mission spurs AVID students to help
Lane Rex, a high risk pre B cell leukemia patient from Corpus Christi now in Pearland, asked for a large toy drive for Texas Children's Hospital for his sixth birthday. Goose Creek Memorial AVID students and teacher Misty Dolgner filled boxes with toys and donations, with PayPal funds aiding larger gifts. The effort, boosted by community posts on Love for Lane, aims to refill the toy closet and support inpatient and bone marrow transplant areas as Lane continues treatment and hopes to ring the bell in December 2018.
