Rebels add defensive presence in Mutombo to Lee College
Mutombo Yomba, a 20 year old center from the Republic of Congo, signed a letter of intent to play basketball for Lee College next season. Coach Roy Champagne praised his shot blocking and paint protection alongside Isaiah Rusher, noting stronger defense should curb opponent shooting and spark fast breaks. Yomba arrived in March, grew from 6 2 to 6 9 1/2, and credits his early coach for teaching fundamentals and love of defense. He was discovered by the Cangonese national soccer team doctor and came to the United States for education and basketball.
