Dallas Cowboys cornerback Adam Jones aims to drop the Pacman nickname and be referred to by his given name. Jones, who is suspended, wants the moniker to fade from memory as he moves forward with his career and public persona.

Baytown native Jeremy Jones, 38, climbed to No. 4 in North America and among the top 10 globally after winning the Generationpool.com Men's Open Championship in Charlotte. The Sterling High School alumnus, now living in Kingwood, travels widely for tournaments that can pay up to $100,000, and he still visits Baytown to see family. Baytown citizen Ken Williamson 67 nicknamed Fat Mac is charged with felony assaulting a school security guard outside REL near Market Street after a May 25 incident at Lee High School. Police report say Williamson refused to stop for a school bus, retrieved a flashlight from his car and struck the guard on the right arm. Williamson acknowledges grabbing the flashlight but says he did not hit the guard. He had a prior Baytown Police career before retirement.
Goose Creek district reported its largest History Day turnout with 54 students advancing to Texas History Day statewide competition and 11 to Washington D C for National History Day. Five Baytown Junior students were selected for a live performance at nationals as part of the district’s strong emphasis on quality presentations.
