Baytown air reservist R L Parker will be honored Saturday as the Air Force Reserve Outstanding Airman of the Year for the Fourth Air Force Region at the Texas State Convention award banquet in Austin. Parker, first noncommissioned officer of the 924th Combat Support Squadron, has 26 years in reserve and active duty and served as senior NCO during the 1965 Operation Northern Hills exercise in Alaska.

Enrolled Sterling students attend a special advanced mathematics course at Lee College for five weeks starting June 6.
