Baytown award honors Keep Texas Beautiful efforts

The annual Keep Texas Beautiful Conference recognized Baytown volunteers led by Scott Sheley with a metal plaque. Sheley credited Tracey Patillo of Physio and many city staff, noting youth from Ross Sterling, Robert E. Lee, Goose Creek Memorial, and IMPACT Early College made a significant difference. He outlined plans for future campaigns and thanked city officials while envisioning ongoing support in the budget to keep the community safe and beautiful.

Baytown Mont Belvieu study outlines 146 corridor upgrades

A December 2016 to March 2018 study maps short and long term measures to ease traffic along Highway 146 in Baytown and Mont Belvieu. Proposed short term steps include 8.2 miles of safety improvements, added medians, 63 left turn lanes, 18 right turn lanes, seven acceleration lanes and three signal installations. Long term goals include key intersections with I 10 and 146, railroad overpasses, and parcels for improved transit links, park and ride options, and potential autonomous vehicle use by 2025.
