San Jacinto Methodist Hospital mourned longtime Chairman of the Board Lawrence J. Reilly with a tribute ceremony at the Garth campus lobby renaming it the Lawrence J. Reilly Pavilion. Reilly’s portrait now graces the lobby waiting area as a permanent reminder of his service to the hospital and Baytown community.

Battleship Texas will close to visitors after discovering a significant leak aboard the historic vessel. Crews report the ship lists 1 to 2 degrees while taking on thousands of gallons of water per hour but remains stable. The closure aims to protect the landmark while repairs are planned.
Houston Yacht Club raises concerns over a 400 acre marsh plan in upper Galveston Bay. Paul Francis, attorney for the club, sent a cease and desist accusing Port of Houston officials of making patently false representations about the project and its impact.
