Trends spotted at the Dallas Apparel Mart for fall and back-to-school buyers include vests and longer, darted flowing garments, fringed scarves, pebble-textured knits in wool and polyester blends, molded dresses with bonded finishes, wide pants and mid-length skirts, more straight pants than flared, fake fur and leather, plaid and pleat influences, maxi coats, corduroy, flowing capes, lingerie details, and a shift toward 1920s inspiration with trims. Deco tones feature wine, forest green, mushroom, and bark, with grey flannel, body jewelry, cut velvets, velours, bias-cut fabrics, sheer fabrics, military brass buttons, and pastel plaids for a fashion-forward season.
