Suspect struck by driver after attempted robbery in Baytown
A man who allegedly tried to rob a female driver at knifepoint was hit by the victim’s car as her two young sons watched. Baytown police say the 53-year-old Abel Martinez was seriously injured and taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann hospital where he remained stable Friday. Police held no charges by midday Saturday and did not disclose his residence. The incident began near Kroger on North Alexander Drive as the woman and her two sons, ages 2 and 5, shopped at CVS across the street.
