Crosby fire drilling plan approved to reach underground leak
A deal Tuesday by Crosby landowners and Louisiana Gas Development Corp enables a drilling operation beside the fire to intercept a natural gas leak two miles underground. Construction and rig move may total up to eight days, with about 45 days to locate and seal the leak. The fire has burned since June 1 and remains a 24 hour effort overseen by the Texas Railroad Commission.
