Sterling White Funeral Home and Cemetery in Highlands completes a $300,000 beautification and technology update. The grounds are redesigned with neater flower vases, new landscaping, and upgraded parking including a new hearse and van. Two more new vehicles are on the way to replace aging Lincolns.
Baytown leaders approved an interlocal agreement funding most of a 120000 dollar building on Texas Avenue to serve as the Art League of Baytown home and a visual arts center for the city. The city will contribute 100000 dollars from its arts and culture budget with the rest from the league. The 10000 square foot, two story building will house the league collection host visiting artists and lecturers and display exhibitions by other organizations.
