Police log notes multiple vehicle burglaries at a car dealership on Interstate 10 and in the 6100 block of Garth Road with losses including 4500 in parts and 750 in computer gear. A 2013 Ford F150 was stolen on Bayway Drive. other thefts include CB radio gear, home items, and entertainment equipment totaling thousands.
A married couple disturbance on North Dakota Street at 2 45 p m Tuesday yielded no animal findings. A man was arrested on a felony aggravated assault warrant and a woman for meth possession on Russell Lane at 9 21 p m Tuesday. A man evading arrest was taken into custody near Spur 330 and Rollingbrook Drive after midnight Wednesday. A woman alleged ex husband keyed her car on Bayway Drive at 2 24 a m Wednesday. Between Tuesday and Wednesday mornings Baytown officers filed 46 offense reports including six assaults and 16 other arrests alongside 5 vehicle incidents with one injury.
A witness observed a cruelty incident at about 5 p.m. Monday in the 2800 block of Garth Road where two kittens were tossed from an open passenger side window of a truck onto the roadway.
Taylor outlined numerous Baytown area projects including lower speed limits north and south of I 10, new signals at Highway 146 and Wal-Mart, a Kilgore Parkway link to 146 and 99, and FM routes from 1409 to 565. The Grand Parkway segments near Cedar Bayou and Mont Belvieu face funding questions, delays, and multi year timetables with estimated costs around 39.6 million and 24.2 million respectively.
Schreiner University has named Megan Brooke Cessna of Baytown to its Dean's List for the spring 2014 term. Cessna was added to the roster of high-achieving students based on academic performance during the term.
Baytown residents Tara Fraizer and Daniel Vaughn earned ETBU Spring Dean’s List with Honors while Sarah Rose made the Dean’s List. Goose Creek Memorial graduate Victor Chavez joined SFA honors society and earned Dean’s List. Baytown graduates from Baylor include Vanessa Badillo, Tommie Crawford Jackson III, Benjamin Lopez, Erik Odom, and Timothy Smith Jr. Centenary reports 163 students on its Spring 2014 Dean’s List, including Kayla King from Winnie.
Lamar University selects 16 students including Eric Hernandez of Baytown as Lamar Ambassadors. They join 22 returning ambassadors to represent the student body at official university events during the 2014 2015 academic year. Tannya Singh of Baytown earns Dean's List at Berkeley College Woodland Park Passaic County NJ.
Dylan Dupont a University of Houston political science major and Baytown resident has been hired as a resident advisor at Calhoun Lofts for the fall 2014 semester by UH Student Housing and Residential Life.
