Malaria Not Considered A Threat In The County
VEDEPOR'S SOTE This is second in a four part series on the mosquito problem in Baytown. Jomella Boynton reports that malaria is not seen as a major threat locally though returning servicemen could reintroduce it. Officials note modern methods disrupt transmission and outbreaks are controllable with timely action. Sanitation and vector control programs using larvicides and equipment aim to limit mosquito populations, particularly culex and aegypti species in Harris County.
