Police seek four men after hit and run on Market Street
Police report four men fled in a white Ford F 250 after striking another vehicle on Market Street around 5 15 p m Tuesday and failing to stop. A Louisiana man was arrested on a drug possession charge after a Stolander Road traffic stop. Burglary reports and 64 offense cases marked Baytown activity with several injuries and four traffic accidents.

WWII veteran seeks White House help on burned Buchenwald airmen list
El Paso 91 year old Albert Rosenberg a former Army intelligence officer recalls recovering a list of 323 airmen held at Buchenwald near the end of World War II. He wrote to White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel asking what happened to the fliers and notes many may have perished. The officer led a unit that gathered evidence and testimonies from 20 000 prisoners after the camp’s liberation by Allied forces. Rosenberg says the original report was once kept at a National Archives depository before a 1970s fire destroyed it and copies disappeared until his rediscovery. He taught at UTEP after service and still wonders if families of the prisoners were ever identified.
