BH ISD held a budget workshop showing a positive near term forecast with the district building a strong financial foundation the second largest in the state. Superintendent Greg Poole warned of possible red ink in three of the next five years while noting solid footing and reserve funding. Barbara Ponder reported starting salaries with a bachelor’s degree at 52000, above state minimum and regional averages. The district plans 11 new teaching positions raising total teachers to 362 and a 15 to 1 student teacher ratio.
