Baytown schools face changes over decades in policy
In 1944 Goose Creek trustees barred faculty including principals from summer war work. In 1953 Baytown trustees kept the same principals against supervisor Gentry's advice to reassign. In 2002 activists urged Baytown's citizen group to work with state legislators rather than police and city officials after Luis Torres's death in custody.
