Patel Investment eyes Bayland Island hotel deal with city
Baytown officials revisit Bayland Island hopes as Patel Investment Group advances plans to lease city land for a three star full service hotel with 120 rooms and 500 square feet of meeting space. Patel operates Holiday Inn Express and Comfort Suites in the region and plans a Spring Hill Suites by Marriott nearby, with construction expected by late 2008 to mid-2009.

Baytown Office of Emergency Management lists weekly hurricane awareness broadcasts on Municipal Channel 16 at 1 30 a.m. 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sundays begin June 8. Two more town hall meetings are planned. The June 10 meeting is at Cove Community Building 5757 FM 565 and June 17 at Winnie Community Building 335 Park St both start at 7 p.m.
