Bayou Bowl opens with three early TDs and lead changes
The sixth Bayou Bowl began with three touchdowns in the first 7 minutes 35 seconds. Texas moved ahead 14-7 as Braden Smith and Darius Bolden connected, then Johnny Thomas returned an interception for the lead and Michael Smith caught an 8-yard TD pass. Louisiana’s John Hinton boomed a wind aided kickoff for a touchback, and a late first-half interception by Galveston County players left Texas up 14-7 at halftime. John Hinton later set an awkward punt record and West Brook defenders starred on defense. See Monday’s paper for full Bayou Bowl coverage.
