Greenspan says high oil prices slowing U.S. growth
Former Fed chair Alan Greenspan told a Senate hearing that the United States has absorbed sharp oil price increases but warns that energy costs are beginning to curb growth. He urged avoiding protectionism and supported research into cellulosic ethanol to reduce petroleum dependence.

Dow dips below 11000 as market extends losses
