Jurors reviewed five year old testimony in the second murder trial of Leslie Douglas Ashley, accused in the torch slaying of Fred A. Tones Jr. Prosecutors read 1961 witness statements by Ralph Mizell and Richard Ramirez, while Ashley’s counsel challenged coercion and later lies. The medical examiner testified bullets were removed from the burned body.
