AIDS talk at Baystown meeting highlights costs and risks
Claudia Smith of the Visiting Nurse Association told Baystown Kiwanians AIDS costs about 147 dollars per case and that two years is the longest symptom duration. She said all known carriers eventually show symptoms and stressed ongoing research, education, and that the virus spreads mainly through sexual contact, not via insects. The program, part of Red Cross material, urges accurate public information and lists Nancy Neaver as a contact for more details.
