AT&T executive says that company weathering strike
AT&T faces a nationwide walkout by 155000 workers that could last up to a month before major network problems arise. Frank Blount, executive VP in charge of the network, says the system is computerized and not yet seriously affected but cautions a longer strike could cause significant delays, especially in installing private lines. Managers work extended hours, 3000 temps hired, and call wait times improved slightly but remain longer than normal.
