Saudi arms vote hangs on tight Senate tally
Washington AP The Senate faces a razor close vote to override President Reagan and block the 265 million arms deal with Saudi Arabia. It would take 67 votes to succeed with all 100 present, as opponents and supporters lobby through Thursday. Senator Cranston says he has 66, seeking one more yes. White House aides say the administration has little breathing room to sustain the veto.
