University Responds to Redus Family Wrongful Death Suit
The University of the Incarnate Word contests liability in a wrongful death case filed by Valerie and Mickey Redus for their son Robert Cameron Redus. Cpl. Chris Carter is said to have acted within his duties as a San Antonio officer during the December fatal traffic stop near the campus.

70th Anniversary D-Day parade set for Liberty saturday
Liberty hosts a commemorative D-Day parade in Liberty County with World War II veterans and successors attending. The event starts 9 a.m. with a wreath ceremony at the Liberty County War Memorial and Liberty High School, then a 10 a.m. parade featuring veterans and a lunch afterward. About 34 veterans are expected, including three who were in France on D-Day or D1. Lee Student Veterans Association plans a float.
