EPA officials tied to industry face scrutiny over Superfund links
The Associated Press analysis finds nearly half of EPA political appointees under President Trump have industry ties. Over 60 hires show about one third worked as lobbyists or lawyers for chemical makers or other regulated companies. The report notes potential conflicts involving Steven Cook and Lyondell Basell, with ethics waivers unclear. Cook is set to chair the Superfund Task Force after Kell Kelly's resignation, while questions remain about waivers and involvement in former employers' matters.
