GreenCare for Troops aids families with lawn care relief
Raymond Lambeth’s wife Michelle benefits from GreenCare for Troops after her husband left for Iraq in 2006. Earth Essential founder Andy Sherbony volunteers to mow and maintain their yard, part of a nationwide effort by Project EverGreen that provided free lawn care to about 2,500 families last year. Gardner of Project EverGreen notes the program offers no cost or obligation, relying on volunteers and contractors to ease military families’ burdens while breadwinners serve abroad.
