Freezer to Aid Home Quick Freezing by UT Engineer
University of Texas engineer W R Woolrich unveils a portable quick-freeze unit about the size of a five gallon ice cream freezer. The vertical bucket design aims to home quick-freeze vegetables and fruits in two to 10 minutes, preserving flavor and texture better than standard locker-plant equipment. A prototype addresses space and cleaning concerns for home or small lockers, enabling true commercial quality results at home. A separate note from Calvert reports a duck laid 163 eggs in 172 days, regarded as tops by farm experts.
