Cedar Bayou will be closed to water traffic Tuesday through Thursday at the Missouri Pacific Railroad right of way about three quarters of a mile upstream of Tri City Beach Road. Barge traffic will be halted for three months beginning Tuesday due to construction of the railroad spur to the U S Steel site.

Fire on USS Forrestal Kills at Least 26 In Carrier Blaze
Saigon reports 26 dead after a catastrophic blaze and 11 explosions aboard the USS Forrestal off North Vietnam. Dozens more injured or missing as bombs, fuel, and jets ignited on the flight deck. Some crew leapt into the sea to escape flames while others were treated aboard nearby carriers. Fall Registration Permits Issued At Lee College
The 1967 68 fall semester at Lee College Baytown begins with registration in the registrar’s office. Students must obtain a permit then meet with a counselor or division head to prepare an approved course list. Fees include a $50 matriculation, $10 deposit, and charges for labs and parking. total per semester maxes at $131.25 plus lab fees. in district students may pay about $67.50 plus add ons.

Baytown’s goodwill ambassador Bill Strickler handed out a Baytown Has Everything brochure during travels from Silverton Colorado to Montreal and Hawaii.
