Inherit the Windfall Riches Debate Bold Claims
New York AP report on Ferdinand Lundberg's controversial book The Rich and the Sitter Ri argues US wealth is largely inherited and family centered. Lundberg contends 0.5 percent hold 25 percent of wealth, 30 percent of Americans are impoverished, and 20 percent do as they like. He says corporations are controlled by a few stockholders, giving the wealthy political power while denying personal culpability.
