Murley, an ironworker for Morrison Hudson Construction Co, at the U S Steel mill site, described how Murley and three attackers fled down an alley after attempting to rob him but yielded no money. He resides near Alexander Drive.
Admitted to Gulf Coast Alvin Cummings Ho Wit iams James L McKinney Ronald Wayne Montgomery Eliza May Lawson Jona Ada Arnold listed with rooms and hometowns. New Arrival Mr and Mrs Larry Don Laughlin of 115 Arbor welcomed a son born July 26 at Gulf Coast.
James F. Henson, 24, son of Mr and Mrs Robert Henson of Crosby, earned the Army Commendation Medal while serving with the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam. He was a Supply Specialist in Headquarters Battery and the division's 20th Artillery. His wife Sharon also lives in Crosby.
Roy L Dye Jr will lead Sears operations in the Houston area replacing James A Milne. He will supervise six full line stores four neighborhood outlets a distribution center and central service facilities. Milne remains general manager in New York City overseeing stores in New York New Jersey and Connecticut plus related facilities. Dye is a Texas A&M graduate and former Army captain who started as a Sears trainee rising to merchandise manager in Galveston and store manager in Amarillo.
The 61-year-old Bishop Moore, who led Negro Methodists in Texas, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, was consecrated in 1950 after pastoring Tindley Temple in Philadelphia. He moved to Houston from New Orleans in 1964, as part of a broader reorganization in which ten bishops were reassigned.

Lobit, and several hundred dollars in goods taken from John T. Blasingame’s car at Bluebonnet Courts. A $10 reward is offered for a black English bicycle stolen from 1611 Lindbergh, and a Chihuahua named Mitzi valued at $6 went missing from Robert Massey’s home. Everett Izard faces auto theft charges connected to a Bay town case later recovered in Cordell Okla. Windows broken at Congregation Keneseth Israel caused $360 damage, and a stereo system plus tapes were stolen from Charles Stratton’s car at Tanglewood Apartments.

Funeral services were held at 9:20 a.m. Saturday for Josh Griffith 33 of 28 M. Jones who died Friday in a Baytown hospital. Interment followed in a Houston cemetery. A retired boilermaker at Humble Oil and Refining Baytown Plant he was born 1885 in Orange. Survivors include a daughter and several sons. Glenn Justice of the Peace Glenn Vickery of Precinct 3 in Baytown held court Tuesday and Wednesday in Pasadena Precinct 2 for Judge Dave Thompson who is ill.
