The trial of Baytown police officer Jon Kevin Fitzgerald begins today on a charge of official oppression for allegedly striking a chase suspect, Ryan Sanders, on the head with a curb after a motorcycle pursuit. Fellow officer Rene Hinojosa is linked to the case. Judge Mike Anderson presides in Harris County.
