Fire towers up as Highlands honors early tower payoff
Highlands volunteers watched as a small flame marked the payoff of a $57,815 communications tower at Fire Station 2 on East Wallisville Road. The tower allows rapid emergency notice and dispatcher contact, with backup power for 30 hours. Community donations, including Rotary and Pilot clubs, support the volunteer department and station upgrades.

Rezoning plans eyed for Lee and Sterling high schools
The board schedules rezoning forums for Sept 20 and Sept 25 at Lee High and Sterling High, aiming to set boundaries at the Oct 8 meeting. They consider grandfathering eighth and 11th graders, which could let Lee remain a 5A campus if approved. Two options AB6-4.1 and ABS5-2 reflect tweaks from a secondary rezoning committee and a potential minor change affecting about 12 students.
