Sheet Metal Workers Return to City Hall Work
Sheet metal workers at Bay town's City Hall and Civic Center went back to work Monday after a new contract was signed in Houston with 22 contractors. The deal ends a three week strike that affected about 1,000 workers across 21 counties. Local Union No. 54 accepted wage and fringe benefits increases totaling more than 152 dollars over three years, ending the old contract that expired June 30. The project is expected to be finished in 10 days to two weeks.
