Texas sales tax holiday set for August 5 to 7
The annual back to school sales tax holiday runs Friday through Sunday August 5 to 7. Clothing footwear school supplies and backpacks under 100 dollars are tax free saving about eight dollars per hundred spent. Texas Comptroller lists eligible items at Texas TaxHoliday.org and the event is expected to save about 92 million dollars in state and local taxes. The holiday has occurred since 1999.

Weekend College enrolls for Fall 2016 at Lee College
Cathy Graham joined the Weekend College program at Lee College to pursue an Associate of Applied Science degree in less than two years.
