Young and old to carry Olympic Torch here
Nearly 100 people aged 1 to 88 are to carry the Olympic Torch through Baytown on Thursday. The flame arrives at 10 a.m. at La Quinta Motor Inn and travels 23 miles to the San Jacinto Monument, where La Porte officials will accept it at 1 30 p.m. Baytown routes include Garth Road to Texas Avenue and a loop past several streets ending at Lynchburg Ferry. Observation areas are listed as Bicentennial Park YMCA Citizens Bank and the Exxon Building. The torch heads to Houston for the U S Olympic Festival beginning Friday.
