Second life claimed in FM 3180 crash near Beach City
A two vehicle crash on FM 3180 claimed the life of 15 year old Kameron Nicole Skinner at the scene and 44 year old Nicol Campise died later in a Houston hospital. Campise’s son Aaron Campise 17 remains in serious condition. Campise was a BHISD nutrition services employee and Aaron a BHISD student. Nicol and Aaron are married to Beach City fire chief Robert Campise. The dump truck driver could not see the Nissan Altima as Campise waited to turn onto Texana Drive. Beach City TXDOT study on speed turn lanes and widening shoulders will be discussed at a Beach City council meeting with TxDOT engineer Cory Taylor.

Goose Creek CISD weighs GCM High expansion plans
Deputy Superintendent Randal O'Brien asked the Goose Creek Memorial High School advisory panel to review two expansion concepts. The first aligns with the $7.3 million 2013 bond for Career and Technical Education including cosmetology JROTC global business floral and engineering. The second would grow from 31 000 to 45 000 square feet add general classrooms and raise cost by about $2 million.

Goose Creek CISD administrator resigns after non renewal
Norma Picacio-Jones, longtime director of bilingual education, left Goose Creek CISD after a non renewal notice for the 2014-15 year. She cited management changes under Superintendent Dr Salvador Cavazos and said her resignation became effective June 30 after accepting the offer to retire.
