Goose Creek CISD picks Cavazos as new superintendent
Goose Creek CISD trustees unanimously approved Dr. Salvador Cavazos as the district’s next superintendent after Dr. Toby York’s planned retirement. Following support from trustees including former President Jenice Coffey, Cavazos becomes the 14th superintendent, with York’s last day set for July 31 and Cavazos most recently leading Alice ISD in Texas. Cavazos will start after transitioning from Alice ISD where he has served for three years.
