Taking A Long Look Back To 1822 Settlers' First School Goal
Baytown recollection traces Cedar Bayou area schooling from early one room log houses to the 1911 two story brick school. Pioneers, such as W. T. Busch and Nelson Martin, recall Cedar Bayou Lodge as a classroom, with many students walking or crossing the bayou by boat to reach lessons. The Cedar Bayou School District formed in 1917 and later merged into Goose Creek with the 1964 consolidation.
