Reliability Of Air Bags And Seat Belts Challenge
WASHINGTON AP The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration welcomes a court challenge by automobile manufacturers to publicly prove the reliability of air bags and seat belts. Administrator Douglas W. Toms said courts will rule in favor of the devices as required in new safety regulations. Ford Chrysler American Motors and a foreign-vehicle group have appealed for modification of the order.

Oil Drilling Firms See Busy Week In Texas Districts
The Railroad Commission reported five wildcat oil wells and 11 wildcat gas wells drilled in Texas last week. Pampa District led oil activity with two wildcat oil wells. other oil wells were in Corpus Christi Kilgore No. 6 and Midland. Gas wells spread across Pampa Houston No. 2 San Antonio No. 2 Kilgore No. 5 and Midland. Totals for the year to date: 147 wildcat oil wells and 240 wildcat gas wells. Completion figures for the week: 86 oil wells and 39 gas wells, with 313 wells plugged including 58 drilled.
