Barbecue Benefits Injured Youth Fair Volunteer Worker

Tex Haltom chairs a benefit barbecue 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Youth Fair grounds to raise funds for hospital expenses of a Youth Fair volunteer worker who was injured in April during a fair grounds construction accident. Cochairman Lawrence Casey. food chair WB Alderson. other organizers include Allen W. Alford, Mrs. Dalton Clan ton, Mrs. E. B. Herrington, and Mrs. W. J. Haltom. Donald Chapman of Deer Park supplies stock. Donald Johnson of Crosby and Brice Foster oversee events and entertainment. Plates are 1.25 with barbecue chicken, salad, beans, bread, onions, pickles, drink and dessert. Events begin at 2 p.m.. Chandlettes perform during the barbecue. The grounds are on North Main, a half mile north of Interstate 30, with rodeos every Friday night and practice sessions each Monday.
