A dog owner and his pet were attacked by a pit bull during a park walk last week. The incident sent the owner to the hospital with injuries and raised a rabies scare. The attack was one of three Pit bull incidents reported recently.

Chambers County Sheriff Joe LaRive led a Monday raid on Old River Winfree’s Pot of Gold eight liner, ending a three month undercover operation. Two employees were arrested and five patrons cited as investigators seized more than $5,300 in cash and 57 illegal gaming devices valued at $85,000.
