Roy W White assistant principal at Ross Sterling High School in Baytown has been promoted to full colonel in the U S Air Force Reserve at Ellington AFB Houston He serves as deputy commander of the 24th Materiel Squadron of the 446th Tactical Airlift Wing He began USAFR service in May 1952 and earned promotions to major in 1956 lieutenant colonel in 1962 and full colonel in June 23 He has taught in Baytown schools since 1947 including roles at Baytown Junior School Robert E Lee High School Horace Mann Junior School and Sterling High He and his wife live at 907 Leavins Their daughters Mary K and Betty attend Southwest Texas University and Lamar Elementary School respectively He previously served in the Army Infantry and Army Air Corps during World War II with overseas supply duties before discharge in 1945.
